“The general public is informed that the above-mentioned person is alive and serving his sentence. These false stories should be ignored with the utmost contempt.” Frank Mayanja Baine
Who is Kanyamunyu and why was he arrested?
Kanyamunyu is 39 years old and is the second last born in a family of five siblings and all male. Their father passed away in 1970 at 42 and their mother passed on the years later.
His arrest?
Mathew Kanyamunyu came to the spotlight as the prime suspect in the fatal shooting of a communal worker Kenneth Akena. On his deathbed at Norvik Hospital, the deceased told his brother in the presence of others that he was shot by Kanyamunyo shortly after he came out to apologize for having crashed into Mr. Kanyamunyu’s car at Lugogo in Kampala.
Later the principal high court judge Steven Mubiru sentenced him to 5 years and one month in prison.
